Disable Google Chrome Auto Update

As anyone who uses Google Chrome as their main web browser knows, it has a habit of auto-updating itself. This is a very good idea, since it means that anyone who uses it, always has the latest version. This will avoid people getting stuck with old, obsolete, and dangerous versions. However, it might be annoying when someone does NOT want their version to be updated.
Reasons might include wanting to test the new version before rolling it out company wide, and also as not to break important extensions.

There is a way to avoid this automatic update.
On a Windows Machine, open the regedit, and under KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Update add a new DWORD   with value named  DisableAutoUpdateChecksCheckboxValue. Set this to 1 to disable automatic updates or 0 to re-enable them.
